The Ghana Evangelism Committee on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th September 2025 held a consultative meeting and church growth seminar with heads of churches and all ministers in Sekondi-Takoradi and it’s environ. This is an initiative of the National Director as part of the strategic approach for the successful implementation of the vision 2027 of the GEC and awareness creation of the ongoing 3rd National Church Survey.
The meeting was hosted by the Sekondi-Takoradi Network of Ministers. A total of about One Hundred and thirty (130) ministers showed up.

The National Director of the Ghana Evangelism Committee, Aps. Bright Nyamedor took the participants present through the newly approved initiative of GEC to conduct a 3rd National Church Survey to know the Church in Contemporary Ghana.
Aps. Nyamedor highlighted on how the Church in contemporary Ghana have become not only places of worship but also significant agents of community development, education, and social transformation. The church often serves as a focal point for social activities, providing a platform for fostering communal ties and addressing various societal challenges.
He elaborated on how the survey would lead to:
- The Demographic Trends
- Evaluating Socio-economic factors
- Adapting to Technological Changes
- Assessing Cultural Dynamics and
- Informing Strategic Planning
The National Director, also indicated that the overarching goal of this survey is to examine the state of the church in contemporary Ghana with the following specific objectives:
- To explore the growth of the church in contemporary Ghana.
- To analyze the challenges of the church in the Ghanaian society.
- To examine the prospects of the church in Ghana.
Aps. Bright Nyamedor, also indicated that both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods will be employed for the survey.
He also highlighted on how the survey will be relevant for the church and other cooperate organizations both in Ghana and abroad. These significances are classified under four broad areas:
- Significance to Church Practice
- Significance to Missions
- Significance to Academia
- Significance to Development
The National Director was also privileged to train church leaders on how to Witness in One Minute using the One Minute witness tool. The participants were unleashed to go out to practice what they learnt and about 50 souls were won to the glory of God.
The ministers with one accord prayed earnestly for the church and the Nation as a whole.
