Courtesy Call at the Salvation Army Ghana Territory Headquarters

As part of Ghana Evangelism Committee agenda of making the committee visible to the Christian community again in the Nation, the National Director, Reverend Bright Nyamedor paid a courtesy call to one of it’s Para-Church Organisation partners, The Salvation Army Ghana Territory on Monday 22nd January 2024 at their headquarters.

Rev. Nyamedor briefed the Secretary for Program, Lt. – Colonel Justice Isaac Incoom, and the Major in charge of Evangelism, Major George Freeman of the Salvation Army Ghana Territory on the works of the GEC for the past 49 years, established in 1974 and the quest to rebrand GEC to effectively play the catalyst role in the three core mandate of GEC which are Mission Research, Evangelism and Discipleship to the Churches in Ghana.

The Director also was privileged to speak into the vision 2027 of GEC with the theme ‘GHANA MUST GO’ to the Officers. He briefed them on some of the thematic areas, Mission Research, Discipleship Building, Leadership Development, Evangelism, Strengthening of Ecumenical Unity, Administrative Structuring, Innovative Use of Information Technology (IT) and Financial Mobilization will represent the key areas that will occupy the attention of GEC.

He emphasized the need of a church survey in Ghana for the Christian community. He highlighted how the survey will help in: understanding demographic trends, evaluating socio-economic factors, adapting to technological changes, assessing cultural dynamics and informing strategic planning.

The Secretary for the Program was grateful for the visit and commended the National Director for that and prayed for Him and his team as they helped push the agenda for Ghana to God as is the aim of GEC for the next four years.
