Annual General Meeting

On Thursday 14th March 2024, GHANA Evangelism Committee held its Annual General Meeting (AGM). Presents at the meeting were the Chairman of GEC Most Rev. Dr. Paul K. Boafo, the Vice Chairman Apostle Eric Nyamekye the Steering Committee members, Heads of Churches, and Para Church Institutions.

The Vice Chairman Apostle Eric Nyamekye gave an intriguing message title: π‘Ήπ’†π’‘π’π’”π’Šπ’•π’Šπ’π’π’Šπ’π’ˆ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’…π’π’π’“π’˜π’‚π’š 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒖𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π’˜π’π’“π’π’…. Taking his scriptures from Isaiah 60:1-2; 21-22 and Acts 1:8; 8:1& 4-7 also Acts 11:14-21; 17:6.
He indicated that it is time the doorway of the church is repositioned to face the world. According to him, our Church like Zion is a sleeping giant, and what we need today is not more denominations but fire to awaken from her slumber. The Church must gather to scatter. The Church must do the following:

On behalf of the Steering Committee, the National Director, Rev. Bright Nyamedor presented the proposed document for the commencement of 3rd National Church Survey which was approved and adopted.
The last national church survey conducted by Ghana Evangelism Committee was in 1993 but since then, the numbers of churches and church workers have increased, and the dynamics have changed drastically. The imperative therefore, for a national church survey to be conducted in order to enable the church and all other stakeholders get abreast of the current dynamics. One effective method for gaining insights into these dynamics is through comprehensive church growth surveys. These surveys provide a systematic approach to examining the demographic, socio-economic, and cultural factors that contribute to the growth or decline of churches in Ghana. The proposed survey would lead to the following.
π‘Ž. π‘ˆπ‘›π‘‘π‘’π‘Ÿπ‘ π‘‘π‘Žπ‘›π‘‘π‘–π‘›π‘” π·π‘’π‘šπ‘œπ‘”π‘Ÿπ‘Žπ‘β„Žπ‘–π‘ π‘‡π‘Ÿπ‘’π‘›π‘‘π‘

This survey is relevant for the church and other cooperate organizations both in Ghana and abroad. These significances are classified under four broad areas:

This is a huge capital project and we pray that God through Christian community of faith will grant us the resources to complete it within schedule.

At the AGM GEC 50th Anniversary document was also approved and adopted. The launch shall be held on 1st July 2024 and the Climax in the first quarter of 2025. May God grant us grace.
