Ecumenical Council Joint Meeting

As part of the Ghana Evangelism Committee’s role of Strengthening Unity among Ecumenical Councils in the Nation, the National Director, Reverend Bright Nyamedor was privileged to address a joint meeting of the two giant ecumenical councils in Ghana, The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) and the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) on Thursday 26th October 2023. Rev. Nyamedor briefed the Councils on the works of the GEC for the past 49 years, established in 1974, and the quest to rebrand the GEC to effectively play the catalyst role in the three core mandates of GEC which are Mission Research, Evangelism, and Discipleship to the Churches in Ghana. The Director also was privileged to present the vision 2027 of GEC with the theme ‘GHANA MUST GO’ to the Councils. He stated that over the next four years (2023 – 2027), Mission Research, Discipleship Building, Leadership Development, Evangelism, Strengthening of Ecumenical Unity, Administrative Structuring, Innovative Use of Information Technology (IT), and Financial Mobilization will represent the key areas that will occupy the attention of GEC. The Director humbly reminded the councils that GEC’s ownership is still the Churches and the mandate is to serve all the Christian faith community in Ghana and beyond. He also assured the two councils that GEC is committed to conducting cutting-edge research into the needs of the Churches in Ghana and the gaps that have to be filled. On Discipleship, GEC in collaboration with her international partners is repositioned to provide tailored content materials, training, and any other support to the Churches. The Councillors appreciated the good work of GEC and pledged to work collaboratively together to foster unity among the Christian community. The National Director joined the Ecumenical service organized by the GPCC at Pentecost International Worship Centre Accra to pray for the nation. #GhanaEvangelismCommittee#GhanaMustGo#CCG#GPCC#TheGreatCommission#LongLiveTheChurch
